Teddy Kramer, a visionary entrepreneur and former WeWork director, founded Neon to transform co-working spaces into community hubs that encourage collaboration and creativity.

Teddy approached TowerHouse Studio with a unique challenge: to develop a mobile app and a cloud platform that would serve as the technological backbone for Neon's innovative co-working concept.

The mobile app was designed to offer seamless internet access, while the cloud platform aimed to connect with specialized hardware to ensure smooth operations. Both were critical in bringing Teddy's vision for Neon to life.

‍The journey to bring Teddy's vision to life was a multi-faceted process that began with meticulous planning and extended into agile development.

Development Process

This bird's-eye view allowed us to set clear, detailed milestones linked to specific dates, serving as our roadmap for the project. With this structured plan, we moved forward using the Scrum framework, which facilitated daily standups and weekly demos with Teddy. This approach kept us aligned with Teddy's vision and allowed us to adapt when we encountered hardware-related challenges.

The Hardware: Cisco Meraki

Central to this project was our choice of hardware - Cisco Meraki. Meraki, a leader in cloud-managed IT, provides a comprehensive suite of solutions that allow for seamless network management and security.

The Outcome

The first Neon Space was successfully launched in San Francisco, along with the mobile app. Within two weeks, both the space and the app have started attracting a steady flow of new and returning customers, validating Teddy's innovative concept and our technological contributions.

We kicked off the project with an in-depth technical analysis.
